most hilarious email.....

Kathleen,

Your library fees are right at $442.38.

HAHAHA.  they're all because of books for my senior essay.  i've renewed them too many times, and so i just let them go overdue becuase i still need them.  so now they just charged me the replacement fee for everything.  those fees will go away when i return the stuff, but it'll still be a heafty overdue fine.  all in all, this senior essay will cost me probably $100.  awesome.   at least i'm done with it.....

so i went to the president's leadership dessert thingy the other day....first time i've gone and i've been invited every year.  I DID NOT KNOW WHAT I WAS MISSING OUT ON!!!!   man, it's like a big deal!

~ there were chocolate fountains, cheese platters, and fake-o champaign stuff for the mingle time.  i know i was supposed to feel like a grown up, but it was in the fieldhouse, so it was just normal college + fancy food.  hahaha

~ i felt important....i was at a table up front, right next to the table where the university president and the keynote speaker (whom i'll talk about in a bit) were sitting.

~ who else was at my table?  THE BEANIE LADY!!!!!!   hilarious!   it was great.   she was asking me all about kansas and tornados and whatnot.  of all people to be placed randomly at a table with, i'm glad i got her!

~ Jim Tressel was there.  i almost got mauled for the second time in my college career for asking "who's Jim Tressel?"  for those of you who don't know, he's the head coach of the Ohio State football team.  it was kinda  big deal he was there, becuase people here are OBSESSED with the buckeyes, but his parents are from Ada, one of the super-close family friends was a coach at ONU and is who the new stadium is named after, and one of his sons goes to school here.   so in my eyes it was just lucky for us, not really a huge super special sacrifice for him.  anyways, he was the keynote speaker and it was an EXCELLENT speech.  and he didn't use notes at all, not even an outline.  it was really good.  it was all about servant leadership, which is sweet.  i mean, that's what Jesus did and He's pretty freaking awesome, so i guess it's a good idea.

~ the desserts were so good.  i got a peanut butter chocolate cake thing.  i think i have diabetus now.  hahaha.  it was tasty, and really rich....but i ate most of it anyways.  yeah fatty!

~ we got sweet flash drives as gifts.  free stuff is always a good thing!

all in all, it was a great event!  i just wish i had discovered that sooner in my college career.....

Really?!?!

So this is just copied from anna's xanga....hilarious story of our working out time this morning.  *note- the 'I' is anna, and the 'kat' is, well, me*

I work out almost every morning at 7am.  A lot of mornings I go to work out and some kind of athletic team is in there dominating the machines (mainly ellipticals).  Their coach is standing behind them barking orders and generally making everyone else uncomfortable.

That being said, let me tell you about today.  I had a snooze button dream this morning that I was going to work out and I couldn't get a machine, and after getting into an argument with the coach of whatever team this is, I punch her in the face.  Then I wake up.

I get up and put on pants and head over to pick up Kat, my new morning cardio buddy.  As we walk into King-Horn we are asked if we have our IDs.  Now, I know that it says that valid ONU ID's are needed to work out, but I've worked out four times a week for the past like eight weeks and I've never had to have it.  Whatever... he just asks us to make sure we have it the next time and we continue on.

Kat and I are side-by-side on the ellipticals.  There is one girl on a treadmill (which means there are 3 free) and two other people on ellipticals (which means there are like 9 or so free).  Kat and I do 30 minutes each morning.  Kat got a bit of a head start this morning because I had to change shoes.  If I'm not mistaken, she was two minutes and 30 seconds ahead of me.  Her 30 minutes hits and she just decides to keep going and just wait until I hit 30 minutes.  At this very moment, the coach I've mentioned before (whose identity I am a bit unsure of... I am researching) walks up behind Kat and looks at her timer.  She says, "Have you been on for 30 minutes?"  (Duh... yes she has... read the timer!) Kat replies (and mind you her timer is at 30 minutes and about ten seconds), "Yeah, but I'm just waiting for her (meaning me) to get done.  She has a minute and a half left."

GET THIS! The coach then replies, "Well, you've been on for more than 30 minutes, so you need to get off now."
I almost died... seriously... there are like 9 free ellipticals and she just asked her to get off!  It's not even like her team was there at that moment waiting to get on.  She just had to kick her off to be a huge meanie!  The look on Kat's face was priceless.  I know there is a class that gets the machines at 8am, but it's like 7:43am!  It's not like the people for class were even arriving!  And said coach doesn't even teach that class!!!!

Seriously, does anyone else see the hilarity in this story?!?

** EDIT ** the team mentioned would be volleyball and their coach would be none other than Kate Witte

hahaha   apparently it's "Man Day" and The Man gets a free pass to be a jerk today.  Moral of the story.....a minute and a half extra is just too much to let slide!!

and my new goal is to see how many minutes past 30 i can get before she tells me to stop again....hahaha

So....i'm in myrtle beach.  nope, it's not spring break.  that was three weeks ago.

I'm here for 8 days and only am missing one band rehearsal.  My schedule rocks.

But that still means i need to be reading for my senior essay....but i'll do that on the beach tomorrow.   yessssss.
